John “Wes” Demaree

Mr. John “Wes” Demaree, age 84, of Cross Plains, Indiana entered this life on February 7, l941 in Ripley County, Indiana. He was the son of the late Dilver and Jeanette Bliton Demaree. Wes was a 1959 graduate of Cross Plains High School in Cross Plains, Indiana. He lived in the Benham, Indiana area all his life. He was first united in marriage to Phyllis Smith; this marriage was blessed with three sons, Chris, Craig and Jon. He later married Sue Chandler and was blessed with a son Benjamin. He was a self-employed over the road truck driver with Demaree Trucking in Cross Plains, Indiana. Wes enjoyed playing cards and being with family. Wes died on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 12:12 p.m. at the Silver Memories Nursing Home in Versailles, Indiana.

A LOVING FAMILY

Wes will be missed by his loving sons, Jon Demaree of Cross Plains, Indiana, Chris Demaree and his wife Connie of Cross Plains, Indiana, Craig Demaree and his wife Michelle of Holton, Indiana, Benjamin Demaree of Osgood, Indiana; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; his sister, Myrna Grimes of Dillsboro, Indiana; and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Dilver Demaree, his mother, Jeanette Bliton Demaree, his brothers, Vernon Demaree, Duane Demaree, Howard Demaree, and Tim Demaree.

FUNERAL CEREMONY

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at 6:00 pm, by Rev. Jerry Vandervort at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION

Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
