Joseph F. Estell

Joseph F. Estell, 97 of Holton, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. Joseph was born April 12, 1922 the son of Russell and Sarah Anna ( Perkins) Estell.

He was married to Lorilla Mae (Siebein) Estell on June 23, 1948 and she preceded him in death on October 2, 2018.

He is survived by his two daughters, Rita Stoneking and son-in-law Sam of Holton and Reva Lamping and son-in-law Jeff of Jackson, TN. He is also survived by two granddaughters, Christina Stoneking of Sunman and Samantha Stephens of Batesville; three great granddaughters, Chloe Stephens, Lucy Stephens and Claire Stoneking-Wagner.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Edwin Estell, William Estell, Ray Estell, Grace Kenens, and Shirley Irene Asche.

Joseph was a WWII veteran, serving with the Army Air Corp 356th Fighter Group. He was a member of over seventy years of the Versailles Legion Post. He was employed by Jefferson Proving Gound, Madison until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church.

Joseph’s wishes were to be cremated and this service will be provided by Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home of North Vernon. There will be no services and burial will be at a later date at Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison.
