Joy Ann Youngman

Joy Ann Youngman

Joy Ann Youngman, age 85, of Napoleon passed away in the comfort of her family on Monday, June 1, 2020. Joy was born in Batesville on October 27, 1934, the daughter of the late Patsy and Myrtie (Martin) Sidell. She grew up in the Batesville community.

Joy was a graduate of Batesville High School Class of 1952. After school Joy cared for her parents for many years. She met her forever partner Aloyisus “Wish” Youngman, and they were united in marriage on April 18, 1970. They built their new home on Millhousen Road and spent the rest of their lives there.

Joy was a faithful member of St Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. She loved to be able to help provide meals for the church. Whether it be a wedding or funeral, she was always willing to pitch in. She enjoyed being a part of anything the church ladies were involved with. She could spend hours shopping the aisles of Kroger and just looking at all the items. It was mentioned early on that Thursday night was date night with “Wish” and they would simply go grocery shopping.

Joy is survived by Joe Sidell, Randy and Darlene Sidell, Larry and Tami Sidell, Peggy and Barry Lecher, numerous niece and nephews in Idaho, and brother-in-law Henry Youngman. She was preceded in death by husband Aloyisus Youngman, her parents, brothers Dick, Harry, Charles, and Melvin, and sister Viola Schene, along with niece Bonnie Sohngen.

A public Mass service will be held on Friday June 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. for a public visitation. Social distancing rules will be applied. Memorials may be given to St. Maurice Church in care of Neal’s Funeral Home. Online condolences can be placed at Nealsfuneralhome.net.
