Judas Grant Bowling

In loving memory of Judas Grant Bowling, who departed from this world on June 7, 2024.

Judas was born on June 17, 1978, into the loving arms of his father, Sulvan Bowling Jr. and his mother, Barbara (Disbro) Hysell.

Judas was the cherished brother to his one sister Mindie (Bowling) Molina, and his two brothers, Shafter Bowling and Jacob Bowling.

He loved and admired his sister in laws, Paula (Bruns) Bowling, Tracy (Wilson) Pickett, Kim (Lee) Pickett, his brother’s girlfriend, Courtney Myers, and his brother in laws, Chris Pickett, Shane Pickett, and his sister’s boyfriend, Tim McCreary. He loved and respected his mother’s husband, Randy Hysell, and father’s wife, Thuy Bowling.

Judas fell in love with his one and only devoted wife, Laura (Pickett) Bowling, nearly 30 years ago. Together they brought into the world their only daughter, their pride and joy, Mercedes (Bowling) Davis. They were so happy to recently be blessed with son-in-law, Jordan Davis.

Judas was a renowned coon hunter and was inducted into the PKC Hall of Fame. His passion for his hounds shone brightly. He also found joy in racing cars, particularly on the dirt track and pulling horses. He was a good sport with a happy but competitive spirit and fearless determination and aspirations.

However, what truly defined Judas was his unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, his compassion for others, and his remarkable ability to spread peace, love, and laughter wherever he went. His heart overflowed with love for everyone he met, and his words of affection resonated with sincerity. Judas had an extraordinary gift for making others feel loved and valued, attracting a multitude of friends through his charm and heart of gold.

He never missed an opportunity to tell you that he loved you and that God loves you.

Judas possessed a radiant sense of humor and a unique ability to see the good in every person, creating an atmosphere of joy and positivity wherever he went. His legacy of spreading love and acceptance will be forever cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we bid farewell to Judas, let us take solace in his own words of encouragement that he sent to his precious daughter, Mercedes:

What would we do differently if Jesus Christ himself came to visit us today…….

The Bible says that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and was with the people for 40 days…. He told them that he was leaving but he would send the Holy Spirit….

Love ya sis….. Heaven is real…. The time on this earth isn’t but a blink of an eye compared to an eternity in Heaven. Jesus says we are to celebrate when our loved ones go home to him…. worry is a sin…. Your heart can’t be full of doubt … #BELIEVE

May Judas’s memory be a beacon of love and light for all who were touched by his remarkable presence! Rest in peace, dear Judas.

His nieces: Megan Pickett, Brittany Pickett, Emily Bowling, Laney Bowling,  August Bowling, Avalyn Bowling, Jamie Bowling, Harper Bowling, and great nieces, Paisley Bennett, Bentley Bennett, and Caroline Bowling.

His dogs, friends, coon hunters, horse pullers, race car drivers, ufc fighters, and his 5000 friends on Facebook.

He is predeceased by his grandparents, Sulvan Bowling, Nancy Bowling, Charles Disbro, and Gladys Disbro. His uncles James Bowling, Rick Bowling, and Bill Disbro.

His aunt Sally Disbro. His nephew Gavin Lee. His cousins Dan Bowling, Michael Bowling, and Brian Gray.

Visitation will be held on Thursday June 13, 2024 at Bridge of Hope Worship Center from 2-8 pm.  Funeral services will be held on Friday June 14, 2024 also at Bridge of Hope Worship Center at 1 pm, with doors opening at 11 am.  Interment will take place at Washington Baptist Church Cemetery in Elrod.  Memorials can be given to the Judas Bowling Family in care of the funeral home.
