Loretta Pauline Goodall

Loretta Pauline Goodall, age 84 of Batesville, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2019. The daughter of Finley and Eva (nee: Bolton) Jones was born on September 6, 1934 in Whitley County, Kentucky. Loretta was a member of the Steele’s Chapel Christian Church in Corbin, Kentucky. She worked for US Shoe in Osgood for many years before retiring.

Loretta always put out a vegetable garden when she was able, but her flowers were her true passion. Whether it was cut, planted or potted flowers as long as they were live she enjoyed them. Birds were another interest of hers along with fairies, butterflies and angels. Many times she could be found going to a garage sale or flea market, most likely hunting for something special to decorate her home with. Loretta, of course, was the family cook, always preparing delicious favorites for her family. Everyone looked forward to her tasty “Christmas Roll” presents and she loved making them each year. Most of all she was a devoted mother, grandma and Grammie who loved spending time with her family, especially when it was time to entertain and spoil the great-grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Bobbie Poynter, Ella Meyer (Bill) and Eva Byard (Jeff); 11 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; along with her siblings, Joyce Justice, Margaret Ballinger, Carmel Cameron Roberts, John Jones, Bill Jones, Eugene Jones, Junior Jones and David Jones.

In addition to her parents, was preceded in death by her two children, Carol Isaacs and Gilbert Goodall Jr. and two sisters Alice Grove and Myrtle Bradner.

Visitation will be Wednesday, August 28, from 4-6 p.m. with memorial services following at 6:00 p.m. all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville. Pastor Sandy Gruell officiating. Online condolences www.meyersfuneralhomes.com.
