Marilyn June Walker, 88, of New Marion passed away at 11:00 p.m, Monday, May 6, 2024 at her home. She was born near New Marion on June 19, 1935, the daughter of Bernice and Eva Reynolds Chandler. She was married to Chester Walker on February 21, 1953 and he preceded her in death on December 29, 2018.

Survivors include four sons Terry Walker of East Enterprise, Jerry (Debbie) Walker and Tony Walker both of Versailles, and Tom (Denise) Walker of Milan; one daughter Pamela (Chris) Kohlmeier of Milan; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; one sister Elizabeth Warth of Redding, Ohio and one brother Gene Chandler of Greensburg. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brother Robert Chandler, and her sisters Joan Dicus, Lila Pickett, Shirley Benedict, Betty Adams, and Catherine Grigsby.

Mrs. Walker attended school in New Marion. Her working career spanned many years having employment with Vines Poultry in Osgood, Conn Organ in Madison, the Silver Bell Nursing Home, and Berkel Electronics in Versailles, but her mainstay in life was being a wife and mother. June was a member of the New Marion Baptist Church.

Her wishes were to be cremated and burial will be at the convenience of the family at the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials for June may be given to St. Jude Hospital or the Cliff Hill Cemetery in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
