Martha Heck Robinson Plummer

Martha Robinson Plummer died on June 18, 2024, at Heritage Pointe, Warren, Indiana.

She was born in Cannelton, Indiana November 23, 1927, to John and Selma (Lupp) Heck. On August 6, 1950, she married Glenn Robinson of Sunman, Indiana, where she had taken a teaching position after graduating from Hanover College.

Martha taught health, physical education and business at Sunman Junior-Senior High School (East Central HS after consolidation) until retirement in 1990. Besides teaching, Martha sponsored many school activities and was dean of girls. She supported and assisted Glenn with crops, chickens, dairy cattle, and gardening on their Ripley County farm, being his ears after he lost his hearing.

She was an active volunteer in the Sunman Community church serving on many committees and hosting visiting missionaries. She served on community boards and visited many homes for the annual Cancer Fund drive. While in Warren, she was a member of Solid Rock Church.

Glenn and Martha moved to Heritage Pointe in Warren for the winter in 2005. Two years after Glenn’s passing (November 2006), she married John Plummer, who also preceded her in death.

Martha is survived by children Rosalie (Gary) Walter, Warren; Byron (Marsha) Robinson, Indianapolis; and David Robinson, Laurel Springs, North Carolina; grandchildren, Matthew (Lianna) Walter, Michelle Rans, Jeffrey (Sydney) Walter, Laura (Daniel) Moadel, Evan (Jennifer) Robinson and 14 great-grandchildren, and brother Ralph Heck of Tell City, Indiana.

Visitation will be on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Heritage Pointe Applegate Chapel, located at 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

Visitation will also be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Sunman Community Church located at 304 W. Vine St. Sunman, IN 47041, from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, burial will follow at the St. Paul Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Solid Rock Church of Warren, 485 Bennett Drive, Warren, IN 46792 or Sunman Community Church, 304 W. Vine Street, Sunman, IN 47041.
