Mary Louise Comer

Mary Louise Comer, 77, of Osgood passed away at 3:25 a.m., Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Arbor Grove Village in Greensburg. She was born at Lyle, in Hickman County, Tennessee on January 11, 1942 the daughter of William and Lettie Blackburn Russell. 

She was married to Leroy Comer on May 17, 1958 and her husband of 60 years survives. Other survivors include one son John (Brenda) Comer of Underwood; one daughter Janice (Lawrence) Scheidler of Greensburg; her daughter-in-law Brenda Comer of Adams; 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; one brother William (Ellen) Russell of Columbia, Missouri; one sister Joyce Kunz of Osgood. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son James Lee Comer, and her grandson Chad Comer. 

Mrs. Comer retired as a cook at the Yellow Dog Restaurant in Versailles and she had worked as a cook at the Friendship Tavern. She had also been employed at IT&T in North Vernon and at US Shoe in Osgood. Louise was a member of the Jolly Circle Home Economics Club and the Milan VFW Auxiliary. Louise loved babysitting, playing cards, bingo, tending her garden & flowers, and cooking. 

Louise’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial gathering is being planned for family and close friends on Saturday, May 18 at 12:00 p.m. at the home of Leroy and Louise. Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles is in charge of arrangements.
