Owen Duane (OD) Fagan “Pops”

Owen Duane (OD) Fagan “Pops”

Owen Duane (OD) Fagan “Pops”, 80, of Osgood, IN passed away on August 20, 2023, at home with his beloved wife, Connie, at his side after a long, hard fight with illness. OD was born July 15, 1943, to parents Owen E. and Elizabeth Fagan in Batesville, IN.

In April of 1985, OD met Connie and it quickly became “OD and me”. They made it official by marrying in December of 1985 on Friday, the 13th which he referred to as his “lucky day”. OD was an avid fan of both Indiana University basketball and Cincinnati Reds baseball. He enjoyed golfing, riding motorcycles, fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time on his farm while gardening and spending time with his numerous friends and family. OD retired from Allison Engine Company of General Motors, after 30 years of service. He then went on to work in the asphalt business with Charlie Smith.

OD is survived by his wife, Connie Spillman-Fagan; daughter Dawn (late Everett) Knuckles of Bean Station, TN; daughter Gwyn (Rex) Voils of Bean Blossom, IN; son Allen (Kim) Fagan of New Palestine, IN; son Mark (Lisa) Spillman of Nashville, IN; son Brian (fiance Michelle Schwipps) Gentry of Osgood, IN; sister Phyllis Delong of Speedway, IN; and his dog and faithful buddy, Chloe. OD was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and was known as “Papaw” to many more. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Fagan; father, Owen E. Fagan; and uncle, Norman Fagan.

I didn’t love him for the way he looked…but for the way he looked at me.

A private tribute, honoring “Od’s” life will be held. Online condolences may be placed on nealsfuneralhome.net
