Patricia Kay “Trish” Sproessig
Patricia Kay “Trish” Sproessig, 72, of Versailles passed away at 3:40 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at her home. She was born in Jonesville, Virginia on September 17, 1952, the daughter of Hugh and Emma Thomas McConnell. She was married to Richard Sproessig on December 12, 1970 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 2016. Survivors include her companion George Fritz; her daughter-in-law Eryn Sproessig of North Vernon; two grandchildren Ashtyn (Noah) Yatsko of Lebanon, Ohio and Hunter Sproessig of North Vernon; four brothers Jack (Donna) McConnell of Aurora, Doug (Annette) McConnell of Osgood, Steve (Gina) McConnell of Milan, and Mark (Kerry) McConnell of Osgood; two sisters Peggy (Jeff) Schueler of Liberty, and Rita (George) Anderson of Osgood; brother-in-law Kenny Lee of Versailles, and sister-in-law Beverly McConnell of Aurora, and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her son Michael Sproessig, her brother Larry McConnell, her sister Carolyn Lee, and nieces and nephews. Trish worked for 35 years as a cook at South Ripley High School and also did babysitting in the community. She enjoyed her family and her hobbies included doing crafts and attending craft shows and she also enjoyed dancing. Trish was a member of the Tyson Methodist Church. Her wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday, December 29 at the Tyson Methodist Church with Rev. Gwen Durkee officiating. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at a later date at the Holton Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Tyson Methodist Church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
