Patricia Winters
Patricia “Carol” (Peace) Winters, age 75, of Osgood passed away on Friday November 29, 2024, at University Hospital in Cincinnati. She was born on April 21, 1949, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mable Vesta (Hatfield) Peace in Danville, Kentucky.
At an early age, her family moved to the Osgood community. Carol was a graduate of Jac-Cen-Del High School Class of 1967. Shortly after graduation, Carol rolled the dice and married her high school sweetheart Larry “Wienie” Winters on June 3, 1967. That gamble forever changed her life, they celebrated 57 years of marriage this past summer and were blessed with children Candy and Larry Jr.
Carol worked a few years at the Osgood US Shoe Factory. She retired from Thomas and Skinner INC. after 33 years of service. Carol has been a familiar face on North Buckeye since 1976. In retirement she loved to take trips to the riverboats, play bingo, and solve various games. She enjoyed watching game shows and various crime shows. Her favorite title was always being mom and grandma, her family brought her much joy.
She was a member of the Osgood American Legion Post 267 and Osgood First Baptist Church.
Carol is survived by husband Larry “Wienie” Winters, daughter Candy J. Miller (Lanny Dell) son Larry R Winters Jr. (Starla Shelton), grandchildren; Gereod, Travis, Baili, Maggie Miller, Larry (Trey) Winters III, and Abigail (Codey) Walston, brothers Walter (Georgianne) Peace and Wayne Peace, sisters Judy Kappes and Vickie (Charles) Swinney, Aunt Ethel Peace, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, in-laws; Clifford and Marguerite Winters, sisters-in-laws; Marie Pickens and Barb Peace, brothers-in-laws; Richard “Easy” Pickens, Donald Pickens, Richard Kappes, Clifford “Hank” Winters, and Gene Winters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 3, 2024, at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood from 11 am.-2 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm. also, at Neal’s. Burial will follow at Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles.
