Rhoda J. King

Rhoda J. King, 88, of Palm Coast, Florida, formerly of Holton, Indiana, passed away on May 9, 2022. Rhoda was the daughter of Earl Lawrence and Maggie Martin, and born in Louisville, Kentucky.


She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life, Harold. Together, Harold and Rhoda created a beautiful family of five children, and settled into a blessed life in Ormond Beach, Florida. Later, they moved to Holton, Indiana, and then to Palm Coast. Rhoda retired from Interstate Brands in Indiana, and worked at the Russell Stover Outlet in Palm Coast. Rhoda will be remembered for her love of serving in the church food pantry, and being an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bunnell. Rhoda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold, her son Ronald, and her brothers, Rudy and Les.


She leaves behind her daughters Cheryl (Robert) Stanley, Carol (David) Mackey both of Florida, Donna (Doug) Furst, and Sandy (Joe) Sporleder, both of Indiana, her nephew she helped raise, David (Teresa) Lawrence of Indiana, her nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and her sister-in-law, Helen Lawrence.


Services for Rhoda were held Monday, May 16, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Bunnell. Interment was at the Daytona Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bunnell, 2301 Commerce Pkwy, Bunnell, Florida 32110. All services are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home, Palm Coast.
