Richard H. “Dick” Tankersley

Richard H. “Dick” Tankersley, 83, of Gilbert, South Carolina, entered this life on January 6, 1938 in Bloomington, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Paul and Mildred Howard Tankersley. He was raised in the Canaan community and enjoyed farming. He was inducted into the United States Army and later was honorably discharged and transferred to the Reserves. Dick was united in marriage to Ila Mae Leach on June 14, 1959.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, January 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. by Pastor Jim Scroggin at the Calvery Baptist Church, 2632 Michigan Road in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North US 421, Madison, Indiana. A final salute will be conducted on Friday at the Calvary Baptist Church by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No.9 of the American Legion with military honors to follow at the graveside. Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre are entrusted with the arrangements.
