Robert “Bob” Russell, 81, of Moores Hill passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood. Bob was born on Monday, January 24, 1944, in Milan; son of Lloyd and Bernice (Lows) Russell. Bob married the love of his life and best friend, Kay (Smith) Russell, on June 29, 1963, and she survives him. Bob worked for 38 years as a laborer and last several years as Seagram’s fireman in the Milan warehouses. He was also a member of the Sons of Milan American Legion Post #235. He loved being outdoors and was an avid squirrel and deer hunter. He enjoyed spending time on the farm and listening to country music including bluegrass. Bob loved watching IU football and basketball. Most of all Bob dearly loved his family and friends.

Bob is survived by his wife Kay Russell of Moores Hill; children Angela (Randy) Roberts of Milan, Rob (Renee) Russell of Moores Hill, and Marcy (Kyle) Simpson of Bloomington; grandchildren Molly (Alex) Smith of Batesville, Nicole (Dennis) Scudder Roark of Lawrenceburg, Morgan (Micah) Holman of Milan, Steve (Stacey) Myers of Dillsboro, Erica (Derek) Clemons of Dillsboro, Brady Simpson of Bloomington, Tucker Simpson of Bloomington, Miles Simpson of Bloomington, Lucas Widener of Moores Hill, and Macy Widener of Moores Hill; nine great-grandchildren; and sister Bonnie (Reid) Walker of Mila
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Bernice Russell and siblings Carol Calhoun, Leland Russell, Linda Ickenroth, and Vicki Fuller; and daughter Victoria Fuller.

Family and friends may gather in remembering Bob from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Services will follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Tom Holt officiating. Burial will follow at South Sparta Cemetery. Memorials may be given in honor of Bob to Milan Volunteer Fire Department or Milan Dollars for Scholars.
