Ruby June (Pratt) McIntosh
Ruby June (Pratt) McIntosh, 90, of Dillsboro passed away Sunday, May 14, 2023 at home with her loving family by her side. June was born on Wednesday, June 15, 1932 in Osgood; daughter of Charles and Elizabeth “Betty” (HeHe) Pratt. June married the love of her life, Alvin McIntosh, on January 24, 1951 and he preceded her on July 22, 1990. They were blessed with six children; Mitch, Robby, Debbie, Sandy, Mark & Julie. June was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. She loved her pets and was also known to be the family photographer. She was known as “Granny” to most who knew her. June mostly enjoyed having her family near her and telling them about her colorful life.
June will be missed by her sons Robert (Peggy) McIntosh of Dillsboro and Mark McIntosh of Moores Hill; daughters Debra Tinsley of Aurora, Sandra (Kevin) Ridner of Milan, and Julie (Rick) Russell of Milan; bonus daughter Katrina McIntosh; sister Norma Hopper of Versailles; half-sisters Ronda, Charlene, and Gail; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren with one on the way.
June was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Elizabeth Pratt; husband Alvin McIntosh; son Alvin “Mitch” McIntosh; grandchildren Matthew and Melinda McIntosh; son-in-law Floyd Tinsley; brothers Chet Pratt, Roger Pratt, and Jimmy Pratt; sisters Rose Eldridge and Shirley Denton; as well as half-sisters Tressa, Jackie, Carol, and Bootsie.
Family and friends may gather in remembering June from 10:00am – 12:00pm on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Filter-DeVries-Moore Funeral Home in Dillsboro. A Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM with Pastor Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Aurora. Memorials may be given in honor of June to the Dollars for Scholars Matt and Mindy McIntosh Memorial Scholarship.
