Terry Lee Smith

Terry Lee Smith, age 87, of Pataskala, died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. He was born January 31, 1937 in Milan, IN, son of R. Lee and Louella Mae (Long) Smith. Terry was a retired grocery buyer with The Kroger Company after 32 years of service. A devoted and wonderful husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife of 63 years, Patricia Smith; sons, Timothy (Sharon), Bruce (Anne Marie) and Doug (Jennifer); beloved grandchildren, Abigail (Dan) Bavaro, Bradley, Laura and Edward and great grandchildren, William and Avery Bavaro. Also survived by brother-in-law, David (Joan) Little; sister-in-law, Martha (Loren) Pohle; two nephews; other relatives and many friends. Besides his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister Mona Bea Kelley. He was a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science.

He was a member of Summit Station United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and served on the finance committee. Terry loved to go hunting and fishing and volunteer with LEADS and Open Church food bank. He was a certified volunteer naturalist and Master Gardener. Terry also volunteered with the Shriner’s Clown Unit and with the Boy Scouts for several years.

Friends may call 11:00 am-1:00 pm Friday, April 5, 2024 at SCHOEDINGER EAST, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, OH 43232, where funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Friday, April 5.
