Viola D. Dresselhaus

Viola D. Dresselhaus, 90, of Friendship, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Autumn Woods Health Campus in New Albany. She was born near Farmers Retreat on April 12, 1929, the daughter of Martin and Hulda Ewell Kuhlman. She was married to Norman Dresselhaus on May 26, 1951 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2014. 

Survivors include two sons Rick (Christine) Dresselhaus of Lanesville and Robert (Cindy) Dresselhaus of Yuma, Arizona; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Harold, Edgar, and Norman Kuhlman, and her sisters Melba Schulenberg, Pauline Linkmeyer, and Alvera Hockemeyer.

Mrs. Dresselhaus was a 1947 graduate of Dillsboro High School. For several years she worked as a secretary for AAA in Cincinnati and also did bookkeeping for Stegemoller Electric and Plumbing in Friendship. Viola enjoyed crafting, gardening, and attending to her flowers and also did volunteer work for the NMLRA in Friendship.  Viola was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church at Farmers Retreat where she participated in several facets of the church. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15 at 1 p.m. at the church with Pastor Gary Wickert officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles and from 12 p.m. until time of services Wednesday at the church. Memorials maybe given to the Friendship Fire Department or the St. John Lutheran Church in care of the funeral home.
