Wanda G. Gray, 77, of Versailles passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at her home. She was born near Olean on May 31, 1941, the daughter of Gilbert and Evelyn Lane Gray.

Survivors include one son James Simmons of Holton; two daughters Susan Whitham of Madison, and Sandy (Grant) Brown of Olean; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers Glen Gray of Milan, Robert (Linda) Gray of Versailles, and Ronald (Linda) Gray of Farmers Retreat; two sisters Janice (Wayne) Linkmeyer of Cross Plains, and Marilyn Hope Gray of Olean. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Randall Scott and Kenneth Simmons, and her brothers Gene, Gary, and John Gray.

Ms. Gray was a 1959 graduate of Cross Plains High School. She was a former employee of Grote in Madison and was the former owner-operator of the Friendship Tavern. She also did painting and wallpapering in the community and had spent seven years living in Ft. Meyers Beach, Florida. For hobbies Wanda enjoyed going to yard sales and flea markets, and quilting. Wanda was a member of the Bear Creek Baptist Church in Friendship.

Funeral services were held on Monday, January 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Bear Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Sherman Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the Cliff Hill Cemetery in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the Bear Creek Baptist Church or to Rescue 69 in care of the funeral home.
