Children enjoy Legion party
The Versailles American Legion hosted their annual kids Christmas party on Friday, December 19. Kiersten Libby and Christy Scoggins organized crafts for the kids to enjoy which included decorating cookies and coloring wooden nutcrackers. Children enjoy Legion party
A plaque honoring Marine Cpl. John C. Bishop hangs by the Christmas tree in the Versailles American Legion Post #173. Cpl. Bishop was a member of the Versailles American Legion and was killed in action on Sept. 8 in Helmand province, Afghanistan. Bishop is the son of Sarah Thomas and the late Gene Bishop.
Raider offense leads to two wins
158 points in two games combined was the direct result of a red-hot South Ripley offense and Raider boys basketball used that to their advantage last week in a pair of wins against Shawe Memorial and South Decatur.
