Informational mtg. held for Rec. League

An informational meeting was held on Wednesday, January 14 at the town hall in Versailles regarding the future of the Versailles recreation softball and baseball league. A contract must be executed to rent the sports complex from the town of Versailles which houses multiple fields outside of Versailles. The meeting was full of ideas in hopes of implementing a fun and positive atmosphere for participating children and their families. Everyone is encouraged to be a part of making this a success. Bulldog win streak reaches four

Class 3A No. 7 Batesville boys basketball now has double-digit wins on the season and is riding a four-game win streak after a pair of wins late last week at home.
Batesville held off Greensburg 58-51 on Thursday night in an Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference rivalry game and then blasted Southwestern (Hanover) 73-58 on Saturday afternoon in what was a makeup game from a previously postponed December contest.


Siblings make their mark

The Versailles American Legion Junior Shooters traveled to Greenfield on January 3 for the CMP State Championship. The team finished second out of eight teams from across the state. Charlotte Queen, 13, received awards for first place in kneeling, first place in standing and was awarded the Top Shooter overall at the CMP Championship. Sam Queen, 16, finished second in standing. The siblings are from Cincinnati and the children of Laura Schmaura and Josh Queen. Both are first year members of the Versailles Legion Junior Shooters.
