The Versailles American Legion Post 173 celebrated the 249th birthday of the U.S. Marine Corps. on Saturday, November 9. The public was invited to join the celebration with dinner and cake. , the traditional cake cutting ceremony included the youngest Marine, Cody Buchanan, and eldest Marine, Glenn Steele.--See more in the November 14 issue of The Versailles Republican.

BPF Productions Hosted a Buckle series. They had four dates of competition that started in August of this year. Mia Hoegeman, age 10, of Delaware, scored the most points combined in all four in both Peewee Barrels and in Youth Poles.
