Town Convention set for Saturday, Aug. 12 at 10:00 a.m.- Meet the Candidates and voting set at Sunman

According to Sunman Clerk-Treasurer Cheryl Taylor, there are two important dates coming up soon for Sunman residents. There will be a Meet the Candidates night on Tuesday, August 8 at 6 p.m.; and the town election is set for Saturday, August 12 at 10 a.m. Both events will take place at the Sunman American Legion Post 337.

The Sunman Main Street members are hosting the Meet the Candidates night where they will be serving snacks and refreshments. This is a good time to come out and see who is running, what they have to say, and maybe help make a decision for the vote on Saturday.

According to Taylor, this is a Town Convention, which is the way the town votes. Voters have to be present when the conventions starts, which is 10:00 a.m. in order to cast a vote.

Saying this day and time is “extremely unusual” for voters, Taylor asks that everyone share the information with friends, family, anyone who might be eligible to vote in Sunman. “We want everyone who is eligible to vote to have the opportunity to do so,” she noted.
