Many choices in the Primary Election – Voters have more places to cast ballot
According to Liz Baumgartner, Ripley County Clerk, Vote Centers will be used this year for the Primary Election in the county.
Vote Centers simply mean a registered voter with the right criteria can vote at any one of the places throughout the county giving a little more flexibility for the voter.
They will be open as usual on election day from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and are located at: Elrod Baptist Washington Life Center, 5496 E US 50, Dillsboro; Holton Fire Department, 7043 W US 50, Holton; Knights of Columbus, 624 Delaware Rd., Batesville; Milan VFW, 107 N Warpath Dr., Milan; Osgood Town Hall, 147 W Ripley Street, Osgood; Saint Paul Lutheran Church, 5869 St. Rd. 129, Versailles; Shelby Christian Church, 6675 US 421, Versailles; Sunman American Legion, 412 E. Eastern Ave., Sunman; and Tyson Activity Center, 100 N High St., Versailles.
The deadline to register to vote for the Primary Election is Monday, April 8, 2024 and may be done in the Election Office located on the second floor of the Annex building in Versailles or by going to indianavoters.in.gov. The deadline for the Circuit Court Clerk to receive an application for Absentee Ballot by mail is noon on Thursday, April 25, 2024. You may request an application by calling or stopping in the Election Room on the second floor of the Annex building or going online.
This Spring, choices for Ripley County Commissioner District 2 on the Republican ticket are: Trent Mozingo, Holton, and Jeffrey J. Volz, Osgood. For District 3 the choices are Roger G. Gullion, Cross Plains and Douglas E. Rump, Versailles. For County Coroner the choices are Jason Bailey, Versailles, and Rodney D. Stepleton, Osgood.
For County Council at Large on the Republican ticket there are several to choose from: Stephanie M. Back, Versailles; Catherine A. Bailey, Versailles; James E. Batchelor, Batesville; Andrew Decker, Batesville; Peggy A. Ehlers, Versailles; David R. Forwalt, Holton; Richard A. Hooker, Milan; Phillip G. Morgan, Madison; and Taneha J. Negangard, Osgood.
Convention Delegate choices at Large are: Benjamin D. Beckley, Versailles; Melodie Busch, Osgood; Michael C. Busch, Osgood; Richard E. Denton, Osgood; Tiffany B. Foster, Osgood; Jeffrey P. French, Versailles; Susan J. French, Versailles; Thelma A. Laws, Milan; Nancy D. Macek, Osgood; John R. Moton, Batesville; and Kevin J. Rinear, Versailles.
