Phyllis Annette Dunagan
Phyllis Annette Dunagan, 78, of North Vernon, passed away at 2:22 a.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus.
Born October 1, 1946, in Faber, Kentucky, the daughter of Kenneth and Lucille (Tucker) Claxton. She married James Dunagan on October 27, 1979, in Jellico, Tennessee; he survives.
Phyllis worked in trimming for Decatur Plastics and as a Auto Parts manufacturing inspector in Greensburg. She was a member of Scipio Presbyterian Church in Scipio and enjoyed quilting, flowers, gardening and raising her grandchildren.
Surviving with her husband, James; are son, Jeffrey Collins of California; James Tera Dunagan of North Vernon, Troy E. (Mary) Dunagan, Dan Ray (Lorepta) Dunagan, and Jason (Nicole) Dunagan, all of Versailles; daughter, Annette (Terry) Williams of Greensburg; son-in-law, Wayne Meredith of Greensburg; sister, Dally (Wayne) Foutch of Batesville; eighteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren including three Phyllis and James were raising, Makenzi Hunter, Kylie Hunter and Maynard Hunter, all of Scipio, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Terry Hunter; daughter, Tracy Meredith; grandson, Christopher Hunter; and two brothers.
A funeral service for Phyllis was conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. The visitation for family and friends was on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was in the Scipio Cemetery in Scipio.
