Bella - the therapy dog
Exciting things are happening at JCD Elementary. JCDE Principal Dee Budd brought in a new tool to improve social and emotional needs throughout the classrooms on Friday, February 7.
Bella is a one year old goldendoodle. She is a therapy dog brought in to assist with reducing learner anxiety and growing confidence levels of students and adults alike. She will be at the school a couple days a week.
Principal Budd says that Bella is there to help everyone with their emotional and literacy needs, helping to establish good relationships and assist in developmental support. Bella may even help increase school attendance, as students will be motivated to come in and see her.
“Bella loves everyone and wants to please; she is excited to get to know the students and staff and become their friend!” Budd told the Osgood Journal. Bella will be a great addition in assisting with emotional support for students and staff alike.
