Milan grapplers win Mohawk Invite

Milan’s boys wrestling team went to Ohio on Saturday and captured the Mohawk Invitational. It was a repeat championship performance for the Indians who had four individual champions for the day.
Milan wrestling crossed state lines into Ohio on Saturday and came away as a repeat champion after the Indians beat 17 other teams for the win at the Madison Mohawk Invitational in Middletown.
The Indians totaled 208.5 points to earn the title for a second-straight season. Milan’s point total was nearly 20 points better than the second place team in the field.
Hayden Poole, Mason Baylor, Matthew Baylor and Kayden McClellan all emerged as weight class champions for the black and gold. Zane Richardson was a runner-up finisher and both Layne Smith and Jake Roell took fourth place spots.
Milan is off until January 3 when they venture to Indianapolis for the Battle in the Bear Den at Lawrence Central High School.
