Carl Virgil Demaree

Mr. Carl Virgil Demaree, age 71 of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on November 15, 1954 in Batesville, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Virgil and Reta Steele Demaree. He was a 1974 graduate of South Ripley High School. Carl married Sandra June Denning on June 22, 1974 at West Fork Baptist Church. This happy union of nearly 52 years was blessed with four daughters, Kara, Marlene, Carla, and Denise. He was raised in Ripley County and lived most all of his married life in the Madison area. He retired from IBW Electrical Union No. 1393, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator for 43 years. He was a 50 year member of the Canaan Masonic Lodge No. 581, as well as Eastern Star Lodge No. 107 of Scottsburg and No. 652 of Hanover. He enjoyed motorcycles, HAM radios and CBs, and was an avid hunter of raccoon, bird, and deer. He also enjoyed training hunting dogs and show dogs. He also served as a AKC judge. He was awaiting the birth of two more great-grandchildren. Carl died on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 1:05 a.m. at his home in Madison, Indiana.

Carl will be missed by his loving wife of nearly 52 years, Sandra June Denning Demaree of Madison, Indiana; his loving daughters, Kara Demaree Willis and her husband, Michael of Scottsburg, Indiana, Marlene Demaree Sargent of Madison, Indiana, Carla Marie Demaree Wilson and her husband, Eric of Hamilton, Ohio, and Denise Demaree Smith of Madison, Indiana; his grandchildren, Robert (Sierra), Dani, Scotty, Olivia, Charlie, C.J., Cassandra, Norreta, Gabriel; his step grandchildren, Rachel, Kimberly (Charlie), Kathleen (John), Jessica (Justin); his great-grandchildren, Bryson, Braydon, Kiler, John Paul, Kennalee, Serenity, Jaylah, Jaiden, Jayce, Damien, Ziare, Oliver, Amara; his sister, Evie Sanders of Versailles, Indiana; his mother-in-law, Pauline Denning Mason of Madison, Indiana; his sisters-in-law, Missy Demaree of Madison, Indiana, Margie Sparks of Madison, Indiana, and Rhonda Pemberton and her husband, Joe of Harrison, Arkansas; several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil Demaree, his mother, Reta Steele Demaree, and his brother, Robin Demaree.

FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Brad Enevoldsen at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, 9306 North U.S. 421 near Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may visit Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
