Bulldogs dominate home meet

Batesville’s Ella King and at right, Winston Garrett, came away as individual winners on Tuesday night. King won both the shot put and discus while Garrett earned a win in the pole vault.
Batesville track and field ripped off a combined 21 event victories for the night and cruised to a four-way home meet win on Tuesday night against Jac-Cen-Del, North Decatur and Hauser.
The Lady Bulldogs scored 126 points while the Batesville boys were a winner after scoring 114 points. In both meets, North Decatur placed second while Hauser was third and Jac-Cen-Del rounded out the standings.
Of the 21 victories, 11 came on the girls side and that included a sweep of all relay events. Bayleigh Demaree, Paige Allgeier, Jayla Bedel and Ava Wade won the 3200 relay in 10:01.88, Maggie Jelinek, Isabel Meyer, Maycee Holtkmap and Abby Miller were 400 relay winners in 51.47 seconds and the group of Holtkamp, Francesca Myers, Caitlin Raver and Demaree won the 1600 relay in 4:21.78.
Ella King was a dual event winner in the shot put and discus with throws of 41’0.5 and 113’5 respectively. Other Batesville winners were: Reillee Adams, pole vault, 9’6; Raver, 1600, 5:53.25; Abby Miller, 400 dash, 1:03.22; Jelinek, 300 hurdles, 51.51 seconds; Demaree, 800, 2:31.94.
Second and third place Lady Bulldog finishers included the following: Second Place – Holtkamp, high jump, 5’1; Meyer, pole vault, 9’6; Leah Meyer, discus, 103’11; Audrey Dieckmann, Roseanna Gilland, Myers and Aubrey Weberding, 3200 relay, 11:15.73; Jelinek, 100 hurdles, 17.80 seconds; Dieckmann, 1600, 6:26.44; Myers, 400 dash, 1:04.89; Allgeier, 800, 2:35.44; Abby Miller, 200 dash, 27.51 seconds; Bedel, 3200, 12:29.85.
Third Place – Allgeier, high jump, 4’8; Emma Nobbe, pole vault, 7’0; Sydney Gilland, long jump, 14’8; L.Meyer, shot put, 30’6; Adams, 100 hurdles, 18.02 seconds; Adams, 100 dash, 13.97 seconds; Dieckmann, 1600, 6:37.37; Adams, 300 hurdles, 54.91 seconds; Avi Miller, 200 dash, 28.61 seconds; Avi Miller, S.Gilland, Nora Sharkey and Jade Martin, 1600 relay, 4:47.80.
Relay events were also swept by the Batesville boys. Levi Essick, Caleb Harmeyer, James Rowland and Griffin Koester crossed first in the 3200 relay at 8:36.82 and the team of Liam Wagner, Tyler Malone, Noah Davis and Gavin Britch took the 400 relay in 45.43 seconds. Koester, Cash Myers, Cannon Clark and Rowland were tops in the 1600 relay in a time of 3:35.67.
Others placing first for Batesville were: Winston Garrett, pole vault, 11’0; Camden Kaiser, shot put, 45’3; Jeff Gerstbauer, discus, 121’6; Britch, 110 hurdles, 17.21 seconds; Zadiin Small, 100 dash, 11.78 seconds; Max Walter, 400 dash, 53.88; Clark, 800, 1:59.67.
Second and third place finishers for the Bulldog boys included the following: Second Place – Nicolas Tirado, high jump, 5’8; Small, pole vault, 9’0; Kaiden Lamping, long jump, 17’3.5; Gerstbauer, shot put, 43’8.5; Kaiser, discus, 120’7; Lukas Lovins, 110 hurdles, 17.90 seconds; Malone, 100 dash, 11.98 seconds; Myers, 400 dash, 54.05; Britch, 300 hurdles, 44.48 seconds; Davis, 200 dash, 23.86 seconds.
Third Place – Isaac Butz, pole vault, 7’0; Wagner, 100 dash, 12.19 seconds; Dylan Shane, Jaxon Brittle, Brycin Hoegeman and Gerstbauer, 400 relay, 49.73 seconds; Lovins, 300 hurdles, 45.65 seconds; Essick, 3200 relay, 11:13.79; Miguel Nunez, Walter, Harmeyer and Garrett, 1600 relay, 3:50.54.
Jac-Cen-Del had just two top three finishers, both on the boys side, Berkley Williams was third in the shot put at 40 feet and 10 inches and Connor Yeggy ran a time of 24.74 seconds in the 200 dash and placed third.
The Eagles are at the Switzerland County Invitational this evening while Batesville gets set for the East Central Invitational this weekend.
