We salute the top of the class at Milan
Gabe Riehle
Gabriel (Gabe) Riehle is not only an outstanding athlete, but he is the top of his class at Milan High School.
Riehle earned Summa Cum Laude status and will be attending Marian University where he will study Logistic & Supply Chain Management with a double major in Business Analytics while running Cross Country and Track.
When asked if there was a particular teacher who influenced him during his high school career, Riehle noted, “All of my teachers in high school influenced me, but my math teacher, Mrs. Listerman, (Carla), influenced me the most. She always challenged me in the classroom and helped me work to become the best I could be.”
Riehle’s school years have been filled to the brim with activity. He has participated in Varsity Cross Country, four years; Varsity Basketball, four years; Varsity Track, four years, National Honor Society, three years serving as Vice President and one year as President; Fellowship of Christian Athletes, one year, volunteered at multiple Special Olympic Track meets, the food pantry, school blood drives, fundraising and at his church – St. Nicholas.
In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family, going to church, playing sports, board games, video games and hanging out with friends.
His advice to incoming seniors is this: “My advice to incoming seniors is to continue working hard, fill out scholarships even if you don’t think you have a chance, you do! Be grateful for the time you have left. It’s easy to want to count down the days, but it would be better to be present and enjoy the last moments you have! Good Luck!”
Riehle is the son of Eric and Lisa Riehle.
