Ernie Floyd Ridner, 86, of Martinsville, died Saturday January 26, 2019 in Mooresville.

Before retirement he had been employed as a service manager and mechanic at automobile dealerships.

He was a member of Pleasant Grove Christian Church and a previous member of the St. Louis Crossing Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and playing the guitar.

Born October 4, 1932 in Corbin, Ky., Ernie was the son of Henry and Josephine Rose Ridner. He married Dorothy Sneed July 4, 1987 and she preceded him in death February 16, 2015.

Survivors include, children, Deborah (Gary) Giesting of Martinsville, Sandra Marquardt of Pierceville, Rick Ridner of Milan, Randy Ridner of Aurora, Kevin (Sandy) Ridner of Mooresville and Rob Ridner of Milan; stepchildren, Linden Black of Florida and Sharon Clark of Brown County; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and sisters, Velma Angel of Corbin, Ky. and Mildred Knopp of Batavia, OH.

The funeral for Ernie will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Pastor David Vaughn officiating. Visitation will be from noon until service time. Burial will be at Old Union Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be donated to American Cancer Society.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; sisters, Ruby and Shirley and brothers, Starlin, Keith, Vernon, and Ronnie.
