Andy Hand

Andrew “Andy” Lee Hand, 89, of Milan passed away Monday, February 25, 2019 at The Seasons in Milan. Andy was born Saturday, July 13, 1929 in Fairfield Township, Butler County, Ohio the son of Harold and Mary Elizabeth (Inden) Hand. He married Dorothea “Dottie” Schmidt November 7, 1953 and she preceded him in death August 15, 2018.  

Andy was a pharmacist, a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Milan F & AM #31, Murat Shrine, Milan Lions Club, Milan Legion Post #235, Gymkhana Club, founder and member of the 3 Rivers Swim Club and past board member of Margaret Mary Community Hospital.  He enjoyed horseback riding, golf and was the owner, operator and pharmacist of the Milan Drug Store from 1963 till 1988.

Andy is survived by sons Todd (Vivian) Hand of FL and Eric (Becky) Hand of Milan; daughters Carla Unroe of San Francisco, CA and Elizabeth (Ken) Martini of West Chester, OH; sisters Rose Willig of North College Hill and Dolores Hand of Northern Kentucky, and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son David Hand, parents, wife, two brothers and one sister.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, March 3, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, with Pastor Sue Socha officiating. Memorials may be given in honor of Andy to the Milan Library or Boy Scout Troop #631. Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
