William L. Wimberg

William L. Wimberg, age 93 of Osgood passed away at his home on Wednesday,  April 17, 2019 with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Wm. and Fronia Ottman Wimberg. He married the love of his life, Ruth “Jerry’ Lewis and they were married for 73 years.

Bill was a proud WWII Airforce Veteran. He had worked for International Steel near Evansville, Indiana for 38 years serving as the vice president of sales. After retiring, in 1986 he and Jerry moved to their farm near Osgood, building a beautiful home and this is where they would remain for the rest of their lives.  There he was able to enjoy his Arabian horses and doing his woodworking. He was well accomplished in creating different wood pieces along with sculptures and was especially known for his Santa Claus piece! Bill was known and loved by people for his quick wit and crazy sense of humor! He and Jerry faithfully attended Osgood UN Methodist Church and there he served as head usher and greeter.

Surviving are his wife, Jerry; sons, Robert L. Wimberg of Osgood, Wm. Bradley of Humble, Texas and daughter Barbara Sue Dobbertin of Peotone, Illinois. Three grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survive. One sister, Geraldine Rutledge preceded him in death.

 There will be no services. If you were lucky enough to have know him, remember him for his LOVE of life and know that he lived it GREAT!
