Ronald “Gene” Swing

Ronald “Gene” Swing (Pops) of Versailles, Indiana, age 82, passed away on September 23, 2020 in West Virginia. He was doing what he loved – riding his motorcycle.

Gene is survived by his daughter Kim (Dave) Finke, son Shane (Nada) Swing, son David Swing, son Jeff (Kathi) Swing AND many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Brian, Nikki (Matt), Broden, Morgan, Andi; Sara, Ethan, Christina, Chris, Chase; Kasey, Chris (Dani), Chance, Carter and Kayla. He also leaves behind his dearest friends, George and Mary Bultman along with many more friends…too many to mention.

Gene had a zest for life. He enjoyed his motorcycles, ultralight airplane, riding his bicycle and especially his work at the Ripley County Humane Society. He was a huge animal lover. He also enjoyed working at many different places – most recently Hill-Rom, Amazon and the Versailles State Park. He loved people – they were his “audience” for many, many stories and jokes. He will be dearly missed by MANY.

There will be a gathering to celebrate Gene’s life on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Versailles State Park – Schimmerhorn Shelter.
