Virginia Custer McDonald

Virginia Custer McDonald, 90, of Milan passed away at 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 2, 2020 at Ripley Crossing in Milan. She was born near Elrod on January 29, 1930, the daughter of Morris and Elva Pearl Elliott Stevens. She was married to Francis Custer and Howard McDonald, who both preceded her in death. Survivors include one son Michael McKittrick of King, North Carolina four daughters, Jeanette (David) Miller of Fancy Gap, Virginia, Brenda Moore of Moores Hill, Myrna Dunaway of Hope and Sharon McKittrick and her husband Tom Huck of Indianapolis, 15 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Mark McKittrick, and her sisters Darlene Lambert, Doris Wiltberger and Genelle Henderson.


Mrs. McDonald was a 1948 graduate of Versailles High School. She was a homemaker and retired from the Dearborn County Hospital where she worked for 25 years as an EKG Tech. Virginia was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milan. Virginia’s son, Mark, passed away on Wednesday, November 4th and her services will be held in conjuction with Mark’s on Tuesday, November 10th at 11:00 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Harris Long officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Cemetery at Elrod. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be given to the Washington Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
