Coverage area student-athletes from the sports of volleyball, cross country and soccer recently were named Academic All-State selections.
Awards were released following the end of each respective season. All selections were based on grade point averages inside the classroom and nominations were sent in by each school’s head coaches.

At the October meeting of the South Ripley School Board of Trustees, Principals Joe Ralston, Derik Hutton and Ryan Lauber gave a presentation on school safety and focused on October being Bullying Prevention Month. All agreed that preventing bullying is something they work on year around.

Milan Elementary has announced their October Students of the Month. This month’s theme is Trustworthy - “Trusting you to make good choices.”
