Farmer’s Markets celebrated this week

Ludwig Farms had a large variety of produce at the Batesville Farmer’s Market on Saturday, August 1. The market is held at the corner of Boehringer and Main streets every Saturday from 8 a.m. until noon and on Wednesdays from 3:30-6:30 p.m., according to Christy Ludwig, who is the Market Master.


Chamber welcomes certified death doula

The Ripley County Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Korrinn Wood, Christian Death Doulas Service, into their ranks.

“It’s a midwifery kind of thing, but instead of helping someone come into the world, you’re helping them leave it,” said Wood, of being a death doula. “What I do is provide support for the person who is dying by maintaining calm throughout the process for them and their loved ones…I help create the death that individual wants.”


Most schools in the county begin this week

Most schools in Ripley County will be opening this week with much preparation and submitted plans to the local health department to make sure they are in compliance. More importantly, school officials are concerned about the students and are taking every measure possible to make sure students are safe when they return.
