Ripley County 4-H Fair is coming soon
The sights and sounds of the Ripley County 4-H Fair 2026 will dominate the Ripley County Fairground Park in Osgood from July 19 through July 25. It’s a week of fast-paced shows with animals, multiple 4-H exhibits, vendors of every type, and the great rides on the Midway. Each day dawns something new and exciting. Wristband nights are $30 for the entire night and are on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
The crowning of Miss Ripley County 2026 will be held Sunday, July 12 at the Damm Theatre in Osgood. This queen and her court will reign over the festivities throughout the fair which will officially kick off on Sunday at 6:00 p.m. with a Grand Opening. There are other activities that day as well, which will be published in the Osgood Journal on July 14.
Monday, July 20 will see 4-H’ers with their Dairy and Feeder Steer, cats, and the National Pedal Pullers and Racers at 5:00 p.m. Sheep, horse and pony show will be followed that night by Quad & Truck Drags at 7:00 p.m. at the grandstands.
Don’t miss the Baby Contest on Tuesday, July 21. Bring your beautiful babies to the fair for registration at 4:30 p.m. The Contest will begin promptly at 5:00 p.m. There is a nominal fee of $5.00 per baby. There are seven categories ranging from birth to four months to 14 months to 19 months, plus a separate category for multiple births (birth to 24 months). Babies should wear only a white or printed t-shirt, or onesie (shoes and socks permitted). The date for all ages for is figured from July 1, 2026. There will be trophies for the winners in each category and participation ribbons for all entries.
Other things of interest on Tuesday will be the dairy show, cat show and National Pedal Pullers and Racers. There are Quad & Cycle Flat Drags on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at the grandstand.
Wednesday, July 22 will have beef show, rabbit weight in, 4-H horse and pony free style show, and All Star TQs Racing at 7:00 p.m. at the grandstand. One of the highlights of the evening will be the Lil’ Miss/Mister Pageant at the free stage at 6:00 p.m.
Thursday the goat show will be held, a mobile aquatic exhibit from 1:30 – 2:30 in the Farm Bureau Building, plus more. At 7:30 p.m. a Horse Pull will be showcased at the grandstand.
Friday will see more grandstand activity at 7:00 p.m. with Truck Drags sponsored by the Osgood Volunteer Fire Department.
The rides will be running on the midway throughout the 4-H fair, along with all your favorite food vendors. Don’t forget all the projects to be seen in the 4-H Exhibit Hall (Buildings 10, 12, 14, and 15). Check out the many animals and the vendors who are giving away a lot of prizes at their booths.
The Ripley County 40H Fair truly has something for everyone.
