Carla Holt

Carla Sue Holt, 57, passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Carla was born Wednesday, January 23, 1963 in Homerville, Georgia, the daughter of Thelma (Martin) and Aubrey Holt. Carla resided in Milan, Indiana, where she dedicated her life to teaching at Milan School Corporation for 34 years, mostly teaching 3rd and 4th grade. She loved to fish, loved her cats, enjoyed music, books, arts and crafts, going to all the sports events at school and love to talk, she always had a story. She attended church at Hope Baptist Church in Dillsboro, Indiana. She loved her friends and family and took special care of her nieces and nephews and then her great nieces and great nephews. She was a beautiful soul and spirit and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by sister, Anita R. Holt and father, Aubrey Lee Holt.


Carla is survived by her mother, Thelma Holt of Milan; brothers, Brent Holt, Tony (Jackie) Holt both of Milan; sisters Margie (Roger) Minger, Rhonda (Gary) Schmidt both of Milan; nieces, Sara Ollman, Graci Wyatt, and Rachel Holt; nephews, Caleb Ollman, Jared Biddle, Jared Levi Dornbusch; great nieces, Jordyn, Marilyn and Serenity; great nephews, Jackson, Christopher, Giovanni, and Cash; step-nephew Jason Schmidt of Indianapolis; step-nieces Amber Cavins of Moores Hill and Ashley Schmidt of Fort Myers, Florida; and two ornery cats, Trixie and Sonny.


Family and friends may gather to remember Carla from 5 – 8 p.m., Wednesday, September 30 at Hope Baptist Church, 15593 Hwy. US 50, Dillsboro, Indiana 47018. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, October 1 at 10 a.m. also at Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in New Craven Cemetery.
