Charles E. Simon

Charles E. Simon, age 83, of Osgood, passed away at 11:40 a.m., Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Aspen Place in Greensburg. He was born near Osgood on March 24, 1937, the son of Arthur and Eva Tunny Simon. He was married to Lucille Schwering on October 16, 1957 and she preceded him in death on January 31, 2020. Surviviors include four sons Tony (Sandi), Mike (Janice), Joe (Renee) and Paul (Beth) all of Osgood; three daughters Janet (Joe) Wagner and Jennifer (Kevin) Ricke both of Osgood and Sandy (Paul) Wenning of Greensburg; 22 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; two brothers Gene (Patty) Simon of Osgood and Dale (Bonnie) Simon of Bennington; four sisters Amelia (Louis) Wolter and Mary Gilland of Osgood, Melinda (Tim) Wissel of Greensburg and Rita (Jim) Bedel of Westport; sister-in-law Dolores Simon of Osgood. He was also preceded in death by his parents, daughter and son-in-law Mark and Julia Eckstein, grandson Scott Singleton, great-grandson Seth Holland, an infant sister and his brothers Donald and Arthur Simon, Jr. Mr. Simon was a farmer, a former employee of BCA in Greensburg, Johnson Wholesale in Greensburg and drove a route for Straber Oil. Charlie retired in 2009 after driving a bus for the Jac-Cen-Del schools for 30 years. Charlie was a member of the St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 9th at St. Maurice Catholic Church in Napoleon with Father Bill Turner officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the cemetery.
