Clara L. Kunz

Clara L. Kunz passed away peacefully on July 1, 2020 at Aspen Place Health.  She was born on June 28, 1924 to Fred and Minnie Voege Kress in Decatur Co. She attended and graduated from New Point High School. After graduation, she worked a short time at the furniture factory in Rushville.

Clara married Howard Kunz on April 3, 1948. They bought a farm in Ripley Co. and lived there for 26 years. They moved back to Decatur Co. where she still resided. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard; two brothers, Ervin and Edgar Kress; and one sister, Alice Kress. She is survived by one son, Eugene (Karen) Kunz of Napoleon; one grandson, Kevin (Amanda) Kunz; two great grandchildren, Kolton and Hailey Kunz; and several nieces and nephews.

Clara was a faithful member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Napoleon, the churches Ladies Auxiliary and the Greensburg Adult Center.

Observing CDC precautions, a visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2020 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 8 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Napoleon with Rev. Jack Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
