Curtis A. Sebree

Curtis A. Sebree, 88, of Madison passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville. He was born near Lawrenceburg on December 24, 1930, the son of William and Mandy Beach Sebree. He was married to Mary Richardson on April 11, 1959 and his wife of 60 years survives.

Other survivors include one daughter Brenda Hayes of Edmond, Oklahoma; two grandchildren Joshua Hayes and Sasha Hayes also of Edmond; five great-grandchildren; two brothers Junior (Barb) Sebree of Kearney, Nebraska, and Earl (Freda) Sebree of Rexville. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Charles, Bobby, James, Albert, Jack, Frank, and Joseph Sebree, and his sisters Carolyn and Ressie Sebree, Betty Lou Wood, Evaline Rassman, and Bertha Carter.

Mr. Sebree was a former employee of US Waste Material in Lawrenceburg, and for 31 years worked as an encapsulator, assembling oil well motors for underwater drilling for Byron & Jackson in Lawrenceburg. When the company moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma he and Mary also moved with his job. Curtis was a Coca-Cola memorabilia collector and belonged to the Coca-Cola Clan. He also enjoyed bowling, fishing, going to flea markets, and all sports, especially following the Reds. Curtis was a member of the Shelby Christian Church.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 17 at 11 a.m. at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Dwayne Barros officiating. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Thursday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Memorials may be given to the Shelby Cemetery in care of the funeral home.
