Dale “Keith” Evans

Dale “Keith” Evans, age 78, of Westport passed away Saturday, July 27, 2019 in the comfort of his family. Keith was born on June 12, 1941 the son of the late Ralph and Ruth (Moody) Evans in Cross Plains.

If you had the opportunity to meet Keith, his persistent smile and thumbs up was easy to remember. Keith faced many challenges in life, however, was able to self-educate. He was a master of reverse engineering to understand something. Keith could do carpentry, woodworking and enjoyed restoring old tractors. He could rebuild a motor or do finish painting to get the restoration complete.

Keith worked for several years at Cummins, and after retirement enjoyed working with Woolum Farms and Thayer Farms. Keith was a member of Shelby Christian Church. He loved being in the company of his family and watching them in their successes. Keith lived for years in the Ripley County community and spent 22 years married to Glenda (Taylor) Evans.

He is survived by sons, Bill (Jennifer) Evans of Westport, Robert Evans of Jeffersonville, and Curt Webster of Madison; daughters Teresa (Donnie) Whisman of Mason, Ohio and Denise (Doug) Coomer of Florence, Kentucky; grandchildren, Casey (Devonn) Greiwe, Byron (Nicole) Balser, Katey (Nick Johnson) Evans, Braelyn Evans, and Aliyah Evans, great grandson Emmett Johnson; brother Danny (Robbie) Evans of Osgood; nieces Jane (Randy) Hammond and Tammy (Todd) Borgman, and nephew Robert (Angie) Evans. He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew Scott Brattain.

Visitation will be held on July 31, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at Neal’s Funeral Home in Osgood. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. also at the funeral home, with burial following at Shelby Christian Church. Memorials may be given to Shelby Christian Church in care of the funeral home.
