Donald J. Clark, Sr.

Donald J. Clark, Sr., 71, of Versailles passwed away at 12:20 a.m., Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Aspen Health Campus in Greensburg. He was born at Milan on December 28, 1948, the son of Chester and Bertha Juilfs Clark. Survivors include one daughter Christy (Steve) Scoggins of Versailles; one son Donald Clark, Jr. and 5 grandchildren. Mr. Clark was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served with the 4th US Army. He entered the Army on March 27, 1967 and was stationed in Vietnam from July 27, 1968 to July 26, 1969. For service to his country, Don received the Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf cluster, Sharpshooter Qualification Badge and the Vietnam Service Medal with Bronze Stars. In civilian life, Don worked for Batesville Casket Company for 30 years. Don was a member of the Versailles American Legion.


Visitation and funeral services were held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. Mike Cantrell officiating. Burial was at the Oakdale Cemetery at Dillsboro with military graveside rites by the Versailles American Legion. Memorials may be given to the Versailles American Legion or the Hospice of South Central Indiana in care of the funeral home. Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements.
