Elvis Garmon

Elvis Garmon, age 92 of Versailles, passed away Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at home. He was born May 12, 1928. Elvis enjoyed whatever he did in life. He once bought a race car and refurbished it to race in Indianapolis. He was known for winning his races. He served as a private in both Germany and Korea during the Korean conflict. He worked for Home Juice, Frito Lay and retired from Temple Rents. He loved his family and they loved spending time with him. Elvis loved to attend church at the Pierceville United Methodist Church and attended the Walk to Emmaus in Greensburg. In June 2012 Elvis visited the Washington, D.C. memorials as a part of a bus tour with friend, Karen Reynolds. He was a very patriotic man.


Elvis is survived by his daughters Pat Burpo, Rae Jean Mayers, and Linda and Leslie Bird; seven grandchildren with two deceased; 20 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella and his son, Lee Bland as well as two grandchildren.


Funeral services will be Monday, November 9, 2020 beginning with visitation for the family at 8:30 AM and visitation for the public from 9-10 AM with the funeral at 10 AM at Laws, Carr, and Moore Funeral Home in Milan. Graveside services will be at Nebo Park Cemetery near Martinsville.


Rev. Jack Bible and Rev. Leslie Elvis Bird will officiate his services.
