Irma Stewart Jolly

Irma Stewart Jolly, lovingly referred to by family as Nana, passed away at her retirement home in Texarkana, TX, on Monday, October 4, 2021, at the age of 97. She will be remembered by her son-in-law – Clifford Bassham, and granddaughter – Tammy Bassham, who helped her relocate to Texas to be closer to family and provided loving support over the final years of her journey. She will also be missed by her grandson and his family – Tony, Julie, Haylie, Ellie, Lillie, William, and Carlie Bassham – who enjoyed travelling to Florida and Texas whenever possible to enjoy time with Nana, make memories at local attractions, or just sing along to hymns as she played the piano.


As a long-time resident in the Melbourne, FL area, she is mourned by friends and members of Christian Church Palm Shores. From her pre-retirement home in Indianapolis, IN and girlhood home in Ripley County, IN, she is celebrated by her nieces, Carol Ann Holcomb and Janet Icenogle; nephews, David and Dwight Jolly; and other family, friends and members of Shelby Christian Church. Irma was preceded in death by her cherished husband – Ralph Jolly; daughter – Darlene Bassham; brother – Oliver Sutton; sisters – Thelma and June Stewart; and parents – John Stewart and Carrie Eckstein Stewart.


A devoted Christian, mother, wife, and daughter, she is now reunited with her heart’s desires in Glory. A visitation is scheduled for 9am, followed by memorial service and entombment on Saturday, October 16th, at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
