Karen L. Pierce, 77, of Versailles passed away at 8:51pm, Sunday, November 13, 2022 at her home. She was born in Cincinnati on March 22, 1945, the daughter of James and Elsa Schwienher Cooper. She was married to James Pierce on November 26, 1964 and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters Amy (Joe) Feller of Versailles and Angie (Robert) Evans of Cross Plains; 4 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; one brother Jimmy (Mel) Cooper of Versailles; two sisters Anne (Rich) Henderson and Mary Nicastro both of Cincinnati. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son James Stanley Pierce. 

Mrs. Pierce was a 1964 graduate of McCauley High School in Cincinnati. Karen was a former employee with Headstart and also the Tyson Library, both in Versailles. She retired as a supervisor with the Learning Center of the Cavehill Christian Academy near Versailles, but her favorite role in life was being wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma. She also enjoyed crocheting and being with her wide range of friends. Karen was a member of the Bridge of Hope Worship Center where she participated in the Kingdom Builders group. 

Karen’s wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held on Monday, November 21 at 1pm at the Bridge of Hope with Pastor Doug Norman officiating. Memorials may be given to the church in care of the Stratton-Karsteter Funeral Home in Versailles.
