Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Knigga

Kenneth “Kenny” Wayne Knigga,70, of Dillsboro, passed awy Monday, August 8, 2022. He was born to Wilbur and Esther Scholle Knigga on August 14th, 1951. He was raised on the family farm on County Road 550 in Dillsboro, Indiana. Kenny graduated from South Ripley High School and attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. Upon graduation with a degree in business, he returned to the family farm where he lived the rest of his life. He retired from Anchor Glass as a maintenance man.

Kenny was known for his joyful personality, kindness, intelligence, and his ability to outwork a handful of men half his age. He enjoyed family, friends, history, travel, and a good game of euchre. He was a foundation for his family and community as well as a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmer’s Retreat.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Wilbur and Esther Knigga, his brother in-law William “Bill” Lovins, and his niece Denise Lovins Roark. Kenny is survived by his sister Carol Lovins, his nephew Tom (Becky) Lovins, his great nieces and nephews Norman (Amanda) Roark, Tanner (Amy) Roark, Casey Lovins, Cody Lovins, and his great-great nieces and nephews Eleanor Roark, Blaine Lovins, Shawn Roark, Dennis Roark, and Leo Roark as well as his faithful canine companion Bobby the wonder dog.

Kenny will be greatly missed. His family gives thanks to the loving God and father of our Lord Jesus Christ who saw fit to bless us so graciously with his presence, and to mercifully take him home to dwell eternally with his creator and redeemer.

Family and friends may gather in remembering Kenny from 9:00 – 11:00am on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Farmers Retreat. A service will immediately follow at 11:00am with Pastor Jared Tucher officiating. Burial will take place in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Farmers Retreat. Memorials may be given in honor of Kenny to the Friendship Fire Department or St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
