Laura Lee Spaulding, 88, of Milan passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019 at Ripley Crossing in Milan.  Laura Lee was born Friday, August 22, 1930 in Covington, Kentucky, the daughter of Willard “Biddy” and Kathryn “Kit” (Koop) Muir.  She married Merle Andrews June 30, 1952 and he preceded her in death in 1973. 

 Laura Lee worked in the office at Seagrams in Lawrenceburg and Seagram’s warehouses in Milan, then went to work at Aurora Casket in sales department in March of 1969 and retired in June of 1996 as manager of sales administration.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Milan American Legion auxiliary, charter member of Hoosier Links Golf Club, Friends of Milan Library and served on the board of directors for the Ripley County Community Foundation from 1998 – 2005.  She volunteered as a pink lady for 18 years at Dearborn County Hospital Auxiliary.  She was an avid golfer and reader.

Laura Lee is survived by her son James “Jamie” (Cheryl) Andrews of Missouri; stepson Todd (Christie) Spaulding of Ohio; three grandchildren and one great grandson.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and sister Alice Mae Withered.

  A service celebrating her life was held Saturday, June 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Milan, with Pastor Susan Socha officiating.  Burial was in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery.  Memorials may be given in honor of Laura Lee to Ripley County Community Foundation.  Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements, Box 243, Milan, IN 47031 (812) 654-2141.  You may go to www.lawscarrmoore.com to leave an online condolence message for the family.
