Lisa A. Williams, 56, a resident of Columbus, Indiana, passed from this life at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, February 6, 2022, at St. Francis Hospital in Indianapolis. Lisa was born in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, February 12, 1965, the loving daughter of Howard J. “Bud” and Ruth L. Sedam Corson. On October 24, 1992, Lisa married Jeffrey A. Williams; he preceded her in death July 15, 2016.


Lisa was raised in Friendship, Indiana and moved to Columbus while she was in the sixth grade. Lisa was a 1983 graduate of Columbus East High School where she played the trumpet in the band. She was the former band director at Columbus East High School.


Lisa has served the city of Columbus as the administrative assistant and record supervisor at the Columbus Police Department for many years. Lisa also worked part-time in admissions at Columbus Regional Hospital. An accomplished seamstress, Lisa did countless alterations for the police department uniforms, and she made wedding dresses and was always available to do wedding dress alterations. Lisa was a faithful member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Clifty.


Surviving to cherish her memory are her parents, Howard “Bud” and Ruth Corson of Columbus; her children, Jared (Tonya) Williams of Franklin, Joshua Williams of Detroit, Michigan, Joel Williams of Columbus, and Jayla Williams of Columbus; grandchildren, Kirstin Mitchell and Micheal Litherland of Franklin; great-granddaughter, Myah Mitchell of Franklin; sister, Teresa (Rick) Fischer of Columbus; niece, Lauren (Branden) Luhn of Scipio; and great-nephews, Eli and Aiden Luhn of Scipio. Lisa was preceded in death by her husband, Jeffrey A. Williams.


The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 11, 2022, at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty, 6045 East State Street, Columbus, Indiana; Pastor Douglas Bauman will officiate. Family and friends may gather for visitation from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home, 1029 Washington Street, Columbus and from 10:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church. Lisa will be laid to rest next to her husband at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made the F.O.P. Shop with a Cop or St. Paul Lutheran Church Early Childhood Ministry.
