Mary Lee Hunter, of Sunman was born on December 14, 1926 in Sunman, a daughter to Rowland and Theresa Beer Robinson. She was a 1944 graduate of Sunman High School. Mary Lee married Floyd “Bud” Hunter on August 21, 1948 in Versailles and he preceded her in death on February 16, 2019. She was a member of Sunman Community Church and the Women’s Fellowship Leisure Ladies Club. Mary Lee was active working the election boards and she loved gardening – both flowers and vegetables, and her house always bloomed with color. She also enjoyed dancing, camping, cooking, traveling and spending time with family. On Friday, February 7, 2020 at the age of 93, Mary Lee passed away at her residence surrounded by loved ones.

Those surviving who will cherish Mary Lee’s memory include her two daughters, Gayle (Roger) Hughes of North Vernon and Sharon (Douglas H.) Smith of Batesville; 4 grandchildren, Abby (Jim) David of Moores Hill, Brian (Karen) Kirschner of Greenfield, Stephanie (Jeff) Bell of Eaton, and Kara (Brendan) Demeester of Noblesville, and 4 great-grandchildren, Allison Bell, Jonah Demeester, Flynn Demeester and Spencer Kirschner. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Catherine Pohlmeyer and a brother, Glenn Robinson.

Friends may visit with the family on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 4 until 7 p.m. at Cook Rosenberger Funeral Home, 107 W. Vine Street, and again Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Sunman Community Church, 304 W. Vine Street, Sunman. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
