Mary Virginia (Stanfield) Heuer

Mary Virginia (Stanfield) Heuer, known by Ginger to family and friends, age 77 of Versailles passed at Christ Hospital on Wednesday April 20, surrounded by her family. Mary was born in Orange, Texas on October 29, 1944 the daughter of the late Clyde and Billie (Wilkinson) Stanfield.


Upon completion of high school, Mary entered Chenier Business College in Beaumont, Texas. Upon graduation in 1963, she was hired by a local Congressman Jack Brooks. Life would quickly change with her moving to Washington DC. She worked in the Congressman’s office for the next 30 years. She continued working in the Washington area spending several years with Patton Boggs Law LLC. Upon her retirement in 2011, she moved to Versailles, Indiana to be closer to her family.


She is survived by daughter Ashley (Joey) Hoeferkamp, special friend Gary Heuer, sister Judy Dorman, grandchildren Brittany Miller and Jace Hoeferkamp, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Brittany, sister Blanche Murphy and brother in law John Dorman.


Mary’s wishes were to be cremated and burial to take place in Maryland. Online condolences may be left at Nealsfuneralhome.net.
